Another Land
I have a haven that no one else can see
A place safe from the powers that be
It’s not of this word
Nor is it of mine
My world is a place where I am queen
Hailed and revered
My will is law
That is not sanctuary
Where I can be free
My Haven is a place
That has always been
I go there only when I need it
When pain or stress proves too much
Peace and tranquility soothes me
And the land itself accepts me
I do not know who made it
This place of beauty unparalleled
With its tall majestic buildings
A place I know so well
The architecture is crazy
All styles intertwined
From castle ramparts of Europe
To the pyramids of Egypt
With exotic China in between
Meant to seem familiar
To all who it have seen
I wish to know who built it
But no one can tell
Every time I go there
To seek my release
There I am greeted by this
my priest
They serve no religion
And lay claim to no god
But this title I accord them
For here is where they dwell
there robes are neither white nor black
As a priest’s might be
But something in the middle
A hue of twilight seen
To me they listen and never interrupt
All my woes I’ve told them
And it seems to be enough
For they will take my hand
And I know they understand
For with the wall are hallowed halls
Where test and trials are
And seeing eyes that know all
Pain and suffering they have seen
And shared this knowledge with my priest
To ease my disquiet with other such things
It is done only to aid me
Gifts from unselfish hearts
It’s a beautiful place
Where love is never horded
Where other have come before me
Their presence lingers in the air
And their footsteps in the halls
When their bodies have moved on
Their spirits manage maintain here
My priest is the only one I meet
When this pace I seek
I have never meet another
Who has wandered the sacred halls
Or set foot upon the hill side
Where trees grow strong and tall
None have seen the gardens
At least none that I know
With their bloom of every color never in a row
I would like to met another
Whose eyes have seen the land
Where ordered chaos rules
With a light and gentle hand
For they, too, would know the peace
The companion’s solitude I seek
Until then there is my haven
Within my beloved priest
With whom I share my secrets
And endeavor none to keep
